two days ago i've bought "Amber Ylang Ylang" after many tests, and I think it's one of my purchases of the year: I find it hot, heady and long lasting.
I sense hints of lemon blossom, ylang ylang - more flower than creamy sensation- and a amber kind touch.
A few minutes later I hear a thing done between the union of Dior Bois d'Argent and Goutal Myrrhe ardent with a velvet touch of a Creed Angelique encens.
i've discovered that there is also the incense, not my cup of tea, but here is like a silver ribbon that connect the notes in a magnificent way.

Top Notes
Ylang Absolute
Italian Bergamot
Geranium Oil
Middle Notes
Bulgarian Rose Absolute
Cinnamon Ceylon
Incense
Base Notes
Vanilla Bean
Sandalwood
Amber

nice surprise!
it's so different from the EL commercial production, so boring.

The private collection includes Tuberose Gardenia ( gorgeous but too heavy for me) and Jasmin white moss (unknown for me)

Did you smell them? what about them?

Amber Ylang Ylang has been one of my favs last winter. It's warm, round, lasting, evocative...
it reminds me of LE BAIN, from Parfum Joop. If I were you I would try also this one. You find it on ebay for very little money.
In my opinion a must-have.

I did like the Tuberose Gardenia a lot. It was a nice fragrance and since I like Tuberose I did not find this one too heavy.
I recall other Tuberose fragrances heavier. But I forgot which one laugh.gif The frangrace ELPCTG was nicely composed. It is about 2 years ago that I had it.

Amber Ylang Ylang was not my kind of favorite fragrance. I had a sample. It was nice to have the chance to smell it but that was it. The bottle, like TG, was nice. No doubt here. Simple yet sophisticated in its design.

I am curious to smell Jasmin White Moss.

I agree, that the two of the private collection are for sure different than the mainstream.

The only EL fragrance I really enjoy, out of the so called mainstream collection, is Aliage in the vintage version. Not sure if that is still in production. Probably I like that one that much because it was my ever first "adult" perfume.

thanks Lisa, I'll try to find Le Bain by Joop... laugh.gif
thinking about Joop, i remember i have one in a dark velvet bottle (maybe 1997 1998), but i don't find the name..

Bettina, i think i've seen Aliage in some perfum shops in Italy. if i find it, i call you! wink.gif
About Tuberose Gardenia: I love Tuberose ( my love was, is, will be Carnal Flower) but i think it's Gardenia the trouble: lots of perfums with this flower give me headache, i don't know why.
it was the same experience with Velvet Gardenia by Tom Ford.
the only one i can wear it's Isabey Gardenia, maybe because sandalwood mitigates this creamy flower.

I'll start writing from this thread...
I bought Amber Ylang Ylang last spring, in a small little place in Livigno...
I liked it right away, and found it elegant but descreet, something i'd wear for a cozy night.
I agree with who says it's different from the other EL perfumes, it is more classy, I also found it quite similar in the drydown to Bond no. 9's West Side, but the latter is more sharp and not so delicate.
I really like it but i'm not sure if i'd buy it again...
the other two fragrances are quite nice too, but the Gardenia one is not the kind of Gardenia i like...it is too tame and not heady enough, some might find it right, to me it's not the right thing wink.gif
Jasmine White Moss is a garden at the beginning of Spring, green and fresh, the new seasong making a subtle entrance, quite pretty in my opinion...
I didn't get the collector's bottle, i always keep my "flavor of the week" (aka the fragrance i'm fond of at the moment) in my purse and it'd be a pity ruining the cap that way, the regular bottle is pretty enough, don't you think?

I have both, Joop le bain and Amber Ylang Ylang, but really I don't find any similarities each other!!I find they are quite opposite! blink.gif unsure.gif

4 months later and I still have not smelled Jasmine White Moss. Peccato

@Black Silk since you like Gardenia did you try Michele Bergmans Black Gardenia or Jalaine's Gardenia? Both are very nice IMHO.

black silk, if you like gardenia parfums, i think that you must try gardenia by Isabey...i could send you a sample :-).
Bond 9 west side is near to E.L. Ambre Ylang Ylang? i'll try it soon, thanks!
Betty, i've recently smelt Jasmin White Moss and i think that it's less interesting than the others: too much sweet, in some way near to L'istant de Guerlain edp...IMHO.
